Shanna Gerber, RP, MACP

Hi, I'm Shanna!

For over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside teenagers and adults through some of life’s hardest seasons: relationships, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions.

Professionally, I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I have additional training in a number of therapeutic approaches that inform the way I work with clients.

Christian faith is central to my life, and I’m happy to integrate a Biblical worldview into our work if that is meaningful to you. I also warmly welcome people of other faiths or no particular faith at all.

Outside of my practice, I’m a wife, mom to three, and dog mom to our Goldendoodle, Stella. I know that life is full of beautiful, messy, exhausting, meaningful seasons, and I believe we weren’t made simply to get through them, but to grow through them.

What do I believe it means to be Alive & Well?

I believe it means knowing we are more than our struggles. We are not the anxiety or depression we wrestle with. We are not defined by our past or labelled by our coping strategies.

I believe it means knowing our patterns make sense. The things we struggle with often began as ways of coping, protecting ourselves, or making sense of what we’ve experienced. Understanding this can lead us toward compassion rather than shame.

I believe it means knowing we were designed to heal, and then thrive. We aren't simply meant to survive difficult experiences or spend our lives managing what's hard. We have the capacity for healing, growth, connection, and change.

I believe it means knowing we were made for connection. We were never meant to do life entirely on our own. We need relationships where we can be known, loved, supported, challenged, and accepted.

I believe it means knowing we are meant for meaningful, purposeful lives. This doesn’t mean feeling happy all the time. It means having the capacity to experience the full range of life while continuing to move toward what matters.
